CNN Is Officially Fake News
CNN pushed an inflation explainer which could have been written by Joe Biden himself...if he could write.
It’s official. CNN is the official propaganda mouthpiece for the White House under Joe Biden.
Why does CNN deserve this “honor” over other willing outlets like The New York Times, The Washington Post or MSNBC? Well, this article caught my eye over the weekend: “Inflation, explained: Why prices keep going up and who's to blame,” written by Allison Morrow (Senior Editor) and Nicole Goodkind (Senior Markets Reporter) for CNN Business.
“Confused about inflation? You’re not alone,” the article begins, before providing us with a few hundred words of such unintelligible drivel that it could have been written by the president himself.
“Inflation is, paradoxically, both incredibly simple to understand and absurdly complicated,” the authors claimed. “Let's start with the simplest version: Inflation happens when prices broadly go up.”
“It's not always a bad thing,” they argued. “In the United States, for the past 40 years or so (and particularly this century), we've been living in an ideal low-and-slow level of inflation that comes with a well-oiled consumer-driven economy, with prices going up around 2% a year, if that.”
“40 years or so” ago was when President Jimmy Carter set fire to the economy, by the way.
According to the scholars over at CNN Business, “[i]nflation becomes problematic” when the apparently beneficial “low-and-slow simmer” levels of inflation get “fired up to a boil.”
After what can almost be described as a positive “oh my goodness, you’re just too good” framing of inflation under Biden, while subtly arguing that inflation is also out of his control as a “self-fulfilling prophecy” based on a “behavioral economics aspect,” this particular press release reached its crescendo.
“Blame the pandemic. And Russia's war on Ukraine.”
You see, COVID-19 — not the entirely voluntary policy responses to COVID-19 — is to blame. If anything, Biden is our savior. These policies “likely prevented a full-on financial meltdown,” CNN claimed, adding that “Congress and President Joe Biden passed a historic $1.9 trillion stimulus bill in March that made Americans suddenly flush with cash and unemployment assistance.”
“Turns out that when you pull out the plug on the global economy, you can't just plug it back in and expect it to start humming at the same pace as before.”
Ooooooooooh really?
