Good Riddance, Liz Cheney
I don’t care that she doesn’t like Trump. I do care that she would happily empower Democrats in order to fuel her continued vendetta against a man who isn’t even in office anymore.
On Tuesday evening, democracy slapped Liz Cheney squarely in the face, as the incumbent Congresswoman “from” Wyoming lost to challenger Harriet Hageman by almost 40 percent of the vote.
In a demonstration of a shameless lack of self-awareness given Cheney’s outspoken criticism of Donald Trump and his “cult of personality,” the outgoing politician compared herself to Abraham Lincoln during her concession speech…
"The great and original champion of our party, Abraham Lincoln, was defeated in elections for the Senate and the House before he won the most important election of all," Cheney said. "Lincoln ultimately prevailed, he saved our union, and he defined our obligation as Americans for all of history."
And now, Cheney is floating the possibility of running for president in 2024…because politicians are endowed with a unique belief that failure is actually evidence that you deserve even more power.
