Flash back to 2018, deep in the heart of Donald Trump’s time in office. “The Cruelty Is the Point,” Adam Serwer of The Atlantic wrote. “President Trump and his supporters find community by rejoicing in the suffering of those they hate and fear.”
“The cruelty is the point,” huh?
Flash forward a few shockingly short years, and we find ourselves a mere 16 months into Joe Biden’s presidency — yes, we’re not even half-way through.
If cruelty was the point under Trump, what can be said about the current Commander-in-Chief?
Consecutive months have seen 40-year highs of 7.9% inflation in March, 8.5% inflation in April, and 8.3% inflation in May, all as a result of Biden’s decision to print and distribute money like they’re coupons for his local supermarket. Meanwhile, wage growth lags far behind — with a year-over-year growth for private employees of 5.6%.
With every month, inflation outpaces income. With every month, Americans get poorer.
Not only are Americans poorer, the things they have to buy are more expensive. Energy is up over 30%, with gasoline alone up 43.6% (all while the Biden administration cancels oil and gas lease sales). Used cars and trucks are up 22.7%. Milk is up 13.3%, eggs are up 11.2%, and flour is up 14.2%.
The poorer you are, the more inflation stings. The more inflation stings, the poorer you become.
And what is the Biden administration doing to undo the damage they are causing? They’re telling you to buy an electric vehicle if you’re worried about gas prices. They’re increasing interest rates. They’re looking to increase taxes.
Meanwhile, parents can’t even find baby formula…but maybe they should just abort their child for the good of the economy?
Cruelty is the point.
