Why you should vote for Donald Trump
If you're undecided or leaning towards Kamala Harris, read this
We’re finally here: the eve of the 2024 election.
On November 5, 2024, voters will go to the polls to decide whether Donald Trump or Kamala Harris should represent the nation as President of the United States.
Millions are going to vote for Donald Trump, while millions are planning on voting for Kamala Harris, and millions more are on the fence.
If you are going to vote for Harris, or if you haven’t made up your mind, this is for you.
For the Harris or undecided voters out there, here’s why you should vote for Donald Trump.
Vote for Donald Trump in spite of vibes
Look, Donald Trump makes you uncomfortable. Trust me, I get it. I’m a conservative who cheers him on when he does something good, but also calls him out when he does something bad. Yes, he’s done a lot of good, but he’s done a lot of bad.
But this isn’t the normal whataboutism you see every time a politician is accused of…sucking.
“Sure, Hillary Clinton did X, but what about Trump?!”
“Yeah, Donald Trump did Y, but look at Barack Obama!”
“Mitt Romney did Z, but let me tell you about John Kerry!”
Because this isn’t about excusing or downplaying or dismissing one politician’s behavior by pulling the old razzle-dazzle with another politician.
This is about talking about what matters, and what doesn’t.
What matters? Factors like the economy, the border, foreign policy.
What doesn’t matter? How the President of the United States feels about you.
I have a family. I have friends. I have a wife. I don’t need a hug from the president to make me feel loved.
The president works for us. I don’t need my accountant or my attorney or my doctor to make me feel seen or loved or appreciated. I need them to do the job I pay them to do.
Donald Trump is the dentist who makes you cringe, but will fix that broken tooth. Donald Trump is the pilot who has a sexual history that makes James Bond look like a born-again Christian, but will land the plane during heavy turbulence. Donald Trump is the DMV worker who is rude-beyond-belief but gets you your license.
Kamala Harris is the dentist who will make you feel understood while she drills into the wrong tooth. Kamala Harris is the pilot who gives you a hug while she overshoots the runway. Kamala Harris is the DMV worker who smiles as she drops your license in the trash.
Kamala Harris is hiding behind personality, feelings and vibes for two reasons.
For many people, she wins the battle of personality, feelings and vibes.
She loses in all the ways that actually matter.
The biggest victory of the political elite has been convincing us that politicians are celebrities. And how do we judge celebrities? By how they make us feel. Meanwhile, the only metric that matters—what they do—is forgotten.
Treat the president like you treat your dentist. Care less about the hugs, and more about that tooth that’s been rotting for almost 4 years.
Let’s talk about January 6
One of the main attacks against Trump—apart from the “Trump’s a Nazi” routine—is January 6.
And let me make one thing absolutely clear: January 6 was both horrific and inexcusable.
It’s also possible to admit this obvious truth and admit some other just-as-obvious but less politically-convenient truths:
Trump’s years-long refusal to accept the results of the election were dangerous and wrong.
Trump’s rhetoric in the aftermath of the election was dangerous and wrong.
Trump did not incite the riots on January 6.
My biggest problem with January 6 and the category of political violence is that it’s just another political football.
We should care about political violence: we should care when it’s “Republicans” storming the Capitol, and we should care when it’s “Democrats” burning down cities like Minneapolis.
We should care about election integrity: we should care when it’s Donald Trump obsessively denying the results of an election, and we should care when countless Democrats are doing precisely the same thing…when they lose.
This is all about deciding which standards matter and which don’t.
It’s not about picking and choosing which standards matter depending on who is in office and who wants to win.
I’m perfectly willing to talk about January 6 honestly—unlike too many on my side. But that involves addressing it in the context of reality, and I refuse to live in a fantasy that blames Trump for a riot he didn’t cause (even if he behaved terribly before and after), but holds Democrats blameless for nationwide riots that resulted in billions of dollars in damage and multiple deaths in pursuit of “racial equity.”
This isn’t a game of Monopoly: money is real, immigration isn’t Epcot, and foreign policy is supposed to be mean
And why is Kamala Harris going all-in on two things: vibes and being a woman?
Because she loses when we focus on the three issues that matter most in a presidential election.
The economy under Biden and Harris has been a disaster. Hugs, laughs, and pretending to search for your favorite flavor of Doritos can never negate the fact that millions of Americans are suffering because Biden and Harris printed more money than mankind has ever seen to throw directly into the shredder before throwing the bill on the “worry about it in a few years” pile.
Illegal immigration is out of control, with tens of millions of people entering the country illegally to descend upon towns and cities across the nation. Not only are they sapping these regions of their limited resources, they are bringing crime and violence—including murder and rape—under a Democratic Party whose attitude towards law and order depends entirely on home many members of Congress are at risk: unless the doors being kicked down are in D.C., they simply don’t care. For years, the American Left has pushed the lie of multiculturalism, as if the world is one happy-clappy place of shared values. But the world isn’t Epcot Center at Disney World.
In this world, there is evil, there is hate, and there is violence. Western values—and specifically American values—are not the rule. They are the exception. And under Biden and Harris, we’ve seen a return of the disastrous Barack Obama style of foreign policy based on bribing terrorists into not being terrorists. How’s that working out, Barry? We went from comparative peace across the world under Trump to all-out war in multiple continents under Biden and Harris.
Under Trump, the economy was strong, illegal immigration was being addressed, and American foreign policy was a force for peace.
Under Harris, the economy is weak, illegal immigration is being fueled, and American foreign policy is responsible for war.
It’s really that simple.
